Rockmount to the fore at Flemington Saturday September 9th saw some good results at Flemington for various Rockmount graduates. Maybe Better from the Brian Mayfield-Smith stable took out the $101,000 Listed Japan Trophy Race in good style. A water walker graduate,Maybe Better was coming off a close 2nd last week and so it was a super training effort and full credit to the son of Intergaze. Perfectly Ready, from the Mick Price stable, put in his usual honest performance and went down by only 3/4 length in the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality. Sharkbite, who did his time in the water walker here early on in his career, ran a strong third in the Group 3 Danehill Stakes beaten a nose and 3/4 length. He looks like a genuine Caulfield Guineas hope. |
