Dubleo Filly Salutes for Vinery
Dubleanny confirmed her status as one of the most talented young gallopers in the powerful MIck Price stable with a dominant win in the $70,000 Long Tan Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on Sunday, April 25th. Price said the Dubleo (USA) filly had always shown good ability and has won the first of what he thinks will be a number of city events. Not everything went according to plan in the race for Dubleanny as she was held up behind runners until very late in the race. But able to get a tight opening between runners, Dubleanny powered through, reeled in the leaders and then stretched the margin to a long neck. "She's a pretty good filly," Price said. "She has taken a little bit of time to mature - she's been shinny a few times." "I'm happy with her. She should have a good prep - she has always shown good ability." " I think she's a sprinter over 1200 or 1400 metres and I'm going to keep her fresh and keep the weight on her." Dubleanny is one of a number of Vinery Stud horses that spell and pretrain here at Rockmount. |
