Sleek Win For Anitra

Exciting prospect Sleek Anitra stamped herself as a filly of real ability when she accelerated brilliantly to win at Flemington on Saturday for the Peter Moody stable, to make it two wins from as many starts.

The daughter of promising young sire Fastnet Rock looked good when winning on debut at Kyneton on May 15 and looked even better this time around, striding away at the furlong to open up a winning break, then coasting to the line to win the 1400 metre open fillies event by three and a half lengths.

“Peter (Moody) was very confident when I spoke to him beforehand that she had come on well since that first win,” said winning rider Brad Rawiller.

A $270,000 purchase for the Rockmount Syndicate from the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Sleek Anitra was consigned for sale by Coolmore Stud and is from the stakes-placed mare Citidevil (NZ).

“We’re very keen on the Fastnet Rocks,” said Geoff Guest, who manages the Rockmount Syndicate.

“Peter has three or four that are all showing ability.”

Sleek Anitra is one of seven winners for Fastnet Rock, who is the sire of nine individual stakes horses so far from his first crop led by the Group Three winner Wanted.
