$2.1 million Colt Wins By Four

High profile three year-old Redoute’s Choice colt Master Of Design broke his maiden in dominant fashion at Seymour on Monday, careering away to win the 1000 metre maiden by four lengths.

Third when making his debut at Sandown on May 3, the Lee Freedman trained colt was sent out favourite and showed good improvement from that run settling in fourth place before moving up to challenge the leader as they moved into the straight.

He let down beautifully in the run to the line coasting away to win as he liked in a most impressive performance.

Purchased for $2.1 million from the Arrowfield draft by John Ferguson on behalf of Darley at the 2007 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Master Of Design was the most expensive colt by Redoute’s Choice offered at that sale.

Darley bought three yearlings by Redoute’s Choice at that sale for $2 million or more and all three have now won with Master Of Design joining the stakes winners Time Thief and Estee and all three were pretrained at Rockmount.
