Hat-Trick For Typhoon Tracy

Brilliant Rockmount graduate Typhoon Tracy remained unbeaten in posting her third straight win in the open fillies event over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Winning trainer Peter Moody said after the race that, despite the margin being only a neck, Typhoon Tracy had added an extra dimension to her racing armoury in coming from off the pace.

“This race was probably as good a race as any group three fillies race,” he said.

“She’s a big long-striding filly around this turning track and she found the line very well and that’s encouraging.

“It makes her non-one-dimensional, she’s controlled the race in her first two soft wins, tonight she had to work from the 500 metres and knuckle down.

“My filly’s got through in the end thankfully.”

Moody said that Typhoon Tracy raced “more like a seven furlong or a mile horse” which may cause some slight changes to her autumn campaign.

“The (GI) Sangster Stakes over 1200 metres is her aim but it might be a bit too short for her so we’ll have to go home and take stock and we may have to make some slight changes,” Moody said.
