Debut Win For Record Priced MTR Filly

Vinery Stud’s More Than Ready hit new heights of popularity at the yearling sales last year with a new record price for his progeny established by a filly from stakes-winner Regrowth who made a winning debut at Ballarat on Wednesday under the name of Colour.

A $1.6 million purchase for Darley from the Segenhoe draft at the 2008 Inglis Australian Easter Sale, Colour is the second foal of the Unbridled’s Song mare Regrowth, a half sister to the dam of Golden Slipper winner Forensics from the prolific Black Type ‘Snippets’ family tracing to Easy Date.

Starting a short priced favourite, Colour never looked in danger of defeat, jumping swiftly and surging straight to the front before coasting along and accelerating down the running under hands and heels riding to take the 100 metre maiden by the best part of a length.

All John Ferguson’s purchases on behalf of Darley are pretrained at Rockmount and colour is yet another winner to come through our system.
