Queen Anne Triumph for Haradasun

Due to retire to Coolmore Australia this spring, last season’s champion Australian three year-old colt Haradasun showed his true colours at Royal Ascot on Tuesday night with a thrilling win over glamour mares Darjina and Finsceal Beo in the Group One Queen Anne Stakes.

Ridden a perfect race by Johhny Murtagh, the Aidan O’Brien trained son of Fusaichi Pegasus (USA) crossed swiftly at the start to the rails and travelled just off the pace before accelerating to the lead in the final furlong.

Ridden out at the finish, Haradasun prevailed by a neck to claim the third Group One win of his career in taking his overall record to seven wins and eight placings from 18 starts.

Global breeding giant Coolmore secured a controlling interest in Haradasun at the end of his three year-old season, but the new owners were forced to endure a luckless spring campaign in Melbourne before the decision was taken to send him to Ireland.  Haradasun spent the two months prior to his depature for Ballydoyle at Rockmount and we are proud to have played our small part in his Royal Ascot victory.
