Not as Light just Fantastic

Caulfield trainer Mick Price is looking forward to the spring with classy three-year-old Light Fantastic.

The son of Danehill Dancer has bulked up since his sensational autumn campaign and is being set for the majors later in the year.

“He's in pretraining up at Rockmount with Damian Murphy and they tell me he's put on about 80 kilos,” Price told Sport 927.

“He looks fantastic and will be up there for about a month.”

The gelding hasn't raced since the early autumn and while having had only a handful of runs, Price is setting him for the pinnacle of racing later in the year.

“He's rising four and had only four starts but should be in for a tough, solid Cox Plate preparation.”

After winning a maiden on debut at Kyneton, Light Fantastic stepped straight into Listed grade and won the Nissan Stakes.

He then scored in the Group 2 Perri Cutten Cup before remaining unbeaten with his win in the Group 1 Australian Guineas.
