Dynamic Debut for Rockmount

Rockmount’s two-year-old filly, Saranah Gold, showed great determination to win her maiden at the first time of asking on April 27th. Run over 1100 metres at Bendigo, Saranah Gold was ridden by Moody stable jockey Luke Nolen and after drawing a wide barrier in the ten horse field was ridden quietly for the first half of the race. On straightening Nolen found all the right gaps and the filly won going away on the line to win by a comfortable length.

The Encosta De Lago filly showed a good turn of foot in winning this competitive event and her trainer, Peter Moody, may look to step her into city class in the next couple of weeks if all goes well. Rockmount may have a very exciting prospect for the spring.
