Storming Sacha Royale

Sacha Royale continued on her, and Rockmount’s, winning ways when producing a barnstorming win at Sandown on April 16th. The Fasliyev filly has now won 3 of 9 starts, including two in the city, and will attempt to keep her good form rolling on this Sunday when she will step out to 2100 metres at Sandown.

Nicholas Hall is developing a firm affinity with Sacha Royale and he will again be in the saddle this weekend. Nick is only a couple of rides off losing his claiming allowance and maybe this filly may provide the definitive winner.

Sacha Royale’s pedigree continues to improve and her half sister, by Exceed And Excel, recently made $425,000 at the Inglis Easter yearling sale. She was knocked down to Adrian Nicoll of B.B.A. Ireland on behalf of English based Plantation Stud and will eventually go into training with Lee Freedman. Adrian Nicoll is a great judge of fillies and has bought numerous group 1 winners over the years including Australian champion three-year-old filly Serenade Rose. Sacha Royale’s grand dam, Twiglet, also had an Exceed And Excel yearling go through the ring in Sydney, and the colt was knocked down to the bid of Anthony Cummings for $310,000.
