Darley Rockmount Double

Lee Freedman has trained the majority of Darley’s two-year-olds this season and the stable recorded a double in April through the deeds of Viennese and Kalash.

The regally bred Viennese, by Redoute’s Choice out of Snippet’s Lass, added a Group 3 to her resume when taking out The Janz at Morphetville on April 12th under a confident ride by Steven King. The Rockmount pretrainer had already been twice stakes placed, including a good second to leading two-year-old Augusta Proud, and her future broodmare value continues to rise. She has now gone for a spell before embarking on a spring campaign.

April 19th saw Kalash get the cash at Caulfield over 1100 metres. Also ridden by Steven King, the Rockmount pretrainer is another beautifully bred colt being by champion elect first season sire Exceed And Excel out of True Blonde. A speedy individual who is already stakes placed, Kalash will now head to a listed race at Caulfield on May 10th.
