Making His Presence Felt

Every now and then a horse wins a maiden which makes everyone sit up and take note. Mornington on New Year’s Day provided such a winner in the shape of Stage Presence who comfortably saluted in the 5 furlong maiden plate. Five lengths was the winning margin and the colt broke a minute in doing so, stopping the clock at 59.99s.

By Elusive Quality out of the dual Group 1 winning mare Assertive Lass, Stage Presence cost his owner, Darley’s principle Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a cool $1.4 million at the Easter yearling sales in 2006. A half brother to resident Darley stallion Reset, Stage Presence does all his spelling and pretraining here at Rockmount and we anticipate plenty more to come from this good looking Lee Freedman trained galloper.
